Custom car paint, Essex

Custom paint

One-off colours, two-tones and show finishes for anything with wheels. Prepped by hand and laid down in our own booths at Sible Hedingham, near Halstead.

Bring a photo, a paint chip or a colour you saw at a show, and we'll work out how to get there.

What we paint

Anything with wheels. Classics that need their factory colour back, and vans that want to look like nobody else's.

How a custom job goes

  1. You send us photos and say what you're after. We come back with a price.
  2. It comes apart. Trim, glass and badges off, bagged and labelled. See strip-downs.
  3. The metal gets put right. Paint shows every fault under it, so this is most of the job.
  4. Primer and guide coat, blocked back until there isn't a ripple left.
  5. Colour and lacquer in the booth.
  6. Flatted and polished.

Two-tones

The split line is the whole look, so we plan it before any masking goes on.

Questions people ask

Can you match a colour from a photo or a paint chip?

Bring the photo, the chip or the colour off a car you saw, and we'll work out how to get there. A physical sample is better than a photo, because screens and cameras change colours.

What is a show finish?

Extra cutting and polishing on top of a full respray, until the panels read like a mirror under the lights. It takes time, so it's priced as its own stage.
